I am Joe Febles, the owner and chef of vegetarianfoodmarket.com. I have many years of experience in the vegetarian, vegan field. Most recently, I was the owner chef of Zafra Vegetarian Restaurant located in the city of New Brunswick NJ. Zafra supplied local health food stores and the Rutgers University dessert shop, located on one of its campuses. During that time I was fortunate to work with many Rutgers University students that were as passionate about the food and service as I was and with their ideas and suggestions were key contributors to its success.

Prior to Zafra I owned, along with my father and brother, Havana NY Restaurant located in New York City. Havana NY is still in our family and it’s located at 27W 38th St. NYC.

I received my formal training at the New York Restaurant School in New York City where I learned the art of making soups, appetizers, entrees and desserts. As you may notice our food has links to Caribbean cooking, I was born in Cuba and both of my grandmothers were very influential in my current interest in cooking in general.

Our company is attempting to provide vegetarian/vegan food for a reasonable price. I hope to have you as my customer, and I promise that I will provide you with food that is made with the finest and freshest ingredients, purchased from local farmers whenever possible.

My main goal is to construct a non-kill animal shelter, and my wish would be that vegetarianfoodmarket.com would provide me with the ability to reach that goal.
